Entering the school
Enter the school property through the lower gate. Both lanes will be a “drive-through” style drop-off/ pick-up. The lower parking lot is split into two lanes: left lane for primary grades (K4-5th grades) and right lane for secondary grades (6-10th grades) to drive through and pick up/drop off children.
The office will supply each family with a sign (students’ first/last names and grade level) at the Open House. This sign will be required to be placed on the dashboard of each car when picking up students. When you drive up, a supervising teacher will radio your child’s teacher to dismiss them from class. The child then will come out of the building, get into the car, and you will drive away.
School starts at 8:15 am; therefore, please plan accordingly so your child(ren) can be at school on time. If you come to school after 8:17am your child needs to report to the school office. When picking up your child(ren), please remember to have your child’s name sign displayed on the dashboard.
Parking
Use the left lane as you drive into the school property. Once you drive in, park at the designated area for parking which is behind the yellow line.
Driving Policy:
- 5 mph speed limit on the school property
- Do not drive and use a cellphone at the same time
- Keep your eyes on the road as children may be crossing the road.
- Do not drive while students are putting book bags into the vehicle.
- Do not drive with open doors and car trunks
- Follow the supervisor’s instructions
Abnormal Situations
If you will be regularly picking up a child(ren) that is not your own, please come into the office for a sign with that child(ren)’s name so you can continue picking up those children on the right side without parking.
If you are having someone else pick up your child(ren), it is your responsibility as parent to communicate to them the school’s pick-up policy.
All other questions can be answered by calling or coming into the school office.
